A team from Dummar Medical Center visited al-Coral School to provide medical services. That included examining the children’s general and oral health, as well as a dental examination. The team was headed by Dr. Balsam Maihoub, specialist in Pediatric Anemia and Pediatric Hematology, and Dr. Ahmad Jawish, MSc. in Pediatric Dentistry.

The visit is a part of the Child Care Program, and it also included a basic awareness-raising section about the optimal way to clean the teeth, and ways to protect them against diseases.

The Child Care Program offers many educational as well as recreational activities for children and their families, provides mobile medical services for schools, and it runs all year round.

As part of a recreational and awareness-raising day on “Ibn al-Nafis and Ophthalmology” at Dummar Medical Center, the children of “Mashael al-Sham School” were introduced to nutritional foods, and how to maintain healthy eyes, in participation with Dr. Luna Barri, specialist ophthalmological diseases and surgeries.

The visit program also included recreational, interactive games for the children, in addition to a guided tour of the Center’s sections.

Dummar Medical Center, in collaboration with the management of the Montessori School “Sawa”, held a workshop in Dummar Cultural Council with the title “Breast Care from childhood to adulthood”, under the supervision of Dr. Sana al-Abdul Rahim.

The workshop was attended by 250 students, representatives from the Syria Trust for Development, and the “Sawa” administration.

The workshop covered: breast self-examination, puberty, breast-feeding, breast care, prevention of breast cancer, medical facts and common misconception, and the optimal nutrition for maintaining health and preventing breast cancer.

During the event, a number of national and scientific figures were honored by the Sawa school administration. Donations of parents and students were also made to support the activities of the Syria Trust for Development and Human Welfare.

As a part of the “Wardi” Initiative, which was launched in early October, Dummar Medical Center in cooperation with the Syria Trust for Development –Deir Ali Manara, held a workshop about “early detection and breast health care,” with the esteemed Dr. Sana al-Abdul Rahim, specialist in general surgery and breast tumor and diseases.

The workshop was attended by over 300 women from different age groups, and it explored basic topics relating to ways of detecting breast tumors and how to treat them.

It is worth noting that “Wardi” is an annual initiative of Dummar Medical Center in collaboration with various health and women’s organizations and associations from all over the world aiming to raise awareness about early detection of breast cancer.

The Ministry of Tourism has honored the management of Dummar Medical Center, represented by the Director of the Center Eng. Natalia Haj Ibrahim. This came in recognition of the Center’s active role in providing high-quality medical services and supporting the Syrian medical tourism sector during the war years. The event took place in al-Assad Opera House with a number of Syrian institutions, companies, and dignitaries.

Dummar Medical Center set up an evening celebrating the New Year, hosted by al-Farah Choir and sponsored by al-Shaabi Travel Agency and al-Wali Hotel, with the presence of Gifti, Lory Group Entertainment, Daily Cake and Moka al-Malki.

The evening program included group singing, various Disney items, interactive games and gifts for the children.

In coordination with the Syria Trust for Development, the proceeds of the event are dedicated to support war victims and the wounded.

Dummar Medical Center, under the patronage of Judex Group, inaugurated the Gastrointestinal and Chest Endoscopy Section, in the presence of Dr. Youssef al-Asaad, head of the Damascus Doctors’ Syndicate with other doctors in the related fields.

The event introduced the Endoscopy Section as well as the medical and technical work procedures, in addition to a detailed explanation of the features of the endoscopy group in the technical section.

The Endoscopy devices in the section are the latest technology in Syria and the world.

As a part of the 16-day program of activities to combat violence against women, and in cooperation with the Syria Trust for Development – Dummar Community Manara, an awareness workshop was held on the risks of early marriage and the physical and psychological damage it leads to.

The workshop was led by Dr. Eyas Osman, gynecologist and surgeon from Dummar Medical Center. About 40 ladies of different age groups attended.
